There is a personal significance to 'Freedom'. When I was struggling with drug addiction I felt trapped and like I wasn't in control of my own life. For the past 6.5 years I've been clean and sober, and I've been working hard to achieve ever increasing levels of freedom in my life. Today my life is full of challenges as well as opportunities, but they are of my choosing! I've never felt more free and that's something I'm deeply grateful for. This piece is a celebration of that freedom.

For 'Freedom' I broke away from my typical style and creative process. Most of my work uses a small number of elements and each piece has a clear pattern or design running through it. With 'Freedom' I simply gave myself permission to draw whatever I wanted however I wanted. I love how this piece has turned out and it feels like it's a creative breakthrough which will guide my future work.
